I love to write and would invite you to read some of my writing below. The 6 Stages of Cultural Mastery and The 12 Hidden Truths to Learning Spanish are full-length books. The Cultural Transformation Manifesto is shorter but carries a critical message for our world. It is available at no charge by clicking the image below. Also, I am very excited about my upcoming book Puerto Rican Hillbillies, A Deep (and sometimes disturbing) Journey into the Bicultural Soul. It is scheduled for release in the fall of 2020 in correlation with Hispanic Heritage Month.
Great writers are almost always great readers and I am an avid reader. I do my best to read one book weekly in addition to consuming a lot of articles online. In addition, I am a keen observer of human activity and interactions and this provides great inspiration for writing.
The books that have most impacted me personally are The Bible, The Power of Now, Inspiration, Eat That Frog, Focus, The Advantage, Selling the Invisible, Good to Great, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Tipping Point, David and Goliath, Outliers, The Closing of the American Mind, and Kick the Football Charlie Brown.
There are three books on writing that have made a great impression on me, they are; On Writing by Stephen King and On Writing Well by William Zinsser, and The Elements of Style by Strunk and White.
Writing and developing full training courses is a very specialized form of writing. I fell in love with this approach to writing many years ago when I wrote my first course for a non-profit that was teaching English to Spanish-speaking migrant workers. The company (Telamon) commissioned me to write the English course after speaking at their national conference. The course was a huge success and I realized then that books and speeches could make a real impact on people but well-developed courses could transform people.
Below are the brand icons and names of my courses that are available on the market today. If you flip over the card, you’ll see the main purpose of each course and also be able to link to that course if you wish.
Timely articles on culture and current events are important to our ongoing understanding about cultural trends and movements. My blog is dedicated to writing about culture through this lens of current events. From time to time I’ll write about a specific subject dealing with culture, say for example, cultural endearment or cultural empathy, but for the most part I approach my articles through the lens of current cultural events and trends. You can get to my most current articles by clicking on the button below.
